He also thanked Jo Anderson for her hard work in completing our funding applications. He thanked Paul Brown-King from ‘Community Accounting Tyne & Wear’ for his support and working with Anita on our accounts. Youth Worker’s presentation

a) Lyndsey gave a presentation on the Youth Club activities and achievements this year:

b) She reiterated due to being registered with OFSTED we could now include children under 8 years of age without the need for their parents to be present. She explained that since visiting Whiney Banks Community Centre on some Wednesdays the youths have benefited from this greatly and enjoyed the facilities they have to offer.

c) The 11+ Youth Club attended a residential weekend in Keswick, they learnt team building, independence and living skills.

d) The U11 Youth Club took part in a fund raising walk around Albert Park and raised £348.85. The 11+ Youth Club took part in a bag pack at Asda and raised £409.67. A jumble sale was held during the summer but had a very disappointing turn out; we raised £99.73, well done!

e) The Youth Forum was set up as an independent group to enable the 11+ youths to organise activities, fundraise and learn how to apply for funding. This group includes youths from Newcastle and Sunderland.

f) The Summer Play Scheme was very successful this year with a much greater number of U11’s attending. Some activities included visits to Middlesbrough Football Club, Alton Towers and Bike riding at Hamsterley Forest.

18 – 25 Youth Club - Members met up to discuss organising their own activities, they have planned a sponsored walk form Redcar to Middlesbrough Deaf Centre, good luck with this, we hope it’s the start of a regular club.
