I would like to acknowledge that CDYP has been kindly supported by the Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales to continue the valuable unique youth service for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children aged 5 - 25 in the Tees Valley areas.

On behalf of CDYP, the Youth clubs would like to say a big thank you to the Evening Gazette's Wish campaign to support funding for Youth clubs' wide-range of weekly activities to meet the needs of Deaf children within the Tees Valley area.

Hi Sandy, Effie and Andrew,

I am writing this letter on behalf of CDYP. We all are very grateful with the huge donation we received, in lieu of flowers for our Deaf children’s activities. This donation will be a great benefit for the Deaf children through socialising and interacting with other Deaf peers. Keith would have loved to see the children’s happy faces in remembrance of him. He will be greatly missed by all at CDYP and MDC members as well as the Deaf community. We still talk about him all the time.

Last week, we had our Annual General Meeting; Andy Lister who’s a member of the committee took over Keith’s position to chair the meeting and is now temporary Chair. Traditionally it is usual to give a few minutes silence to show respect for someone who has passed away but we didn’t. Instead we gave him a big applause, for all the motivation and support, and for giving the best of himself to the Deaf children of CDYP since the project was first founded.

I also mentioned in my report, that you and the family would appreciate CDYP organising something in memory of Keith for Deaf children, such as Xmas party, pantomime or a special day trip. At our next staff meeting in November, we will discuss and decide what activities we will do for Deaf children with the donation. We will keep you informed with our plans, probably in the New Year, as we have received a grant for the Xmas entertainments.

We would like to have a recent photo of Keith to put up in remembrance of him at the Deaf Centre.

Thank you for your continued support and please keep in touch.

Best wishes

Jacqueline Barnes-Jones
